It was an IRC in-joke– I asked if anybody on #webcomics had an idea for a beer brand and somebody (in a completely separate strand of the conversation) said “Get the hell out, John”.
What is it about playing multiplayer video games that prompts weird Life-the-Universe-and-Everything conversations? Especially when you’re not the one actually holding the controller?
One of the things I love about RMGs comics is that magic isn’t this thing that exists as a mysterious spooky thing that normal people don’t encounter, it’s a seamless part of the world and about as interesting and amazing as plugging in your iPod, while still being pretty clearly magic.

Prepare for a whole chapter on the sofa and a self insert character (+ gorgeous girlfriend for the self insert)!
